Mubwindi swamp is located within the Bwindi impenetrable national park in southwestern Uganda. The park originates its name from this swamp
The park is predominantly known as a home of the mountain gorillas that are situated within the sectors of the park. There are over 19 gorilla-habituated families that travelers on their safaris usually encounter.
The sectors of the Bwindi impenetrable National Park include the Nkuringo, Rushaga, Ruhija, and Buhoma.
Mubwindi Swamp is located in the eastern part of the park in the Ruhija sector. Travelers on their safaris usually engage in this swamp for nature walks.
This nature walk is the best way to explore the swamp during the Uganda safaris. It starts with the briefing at the park headquarters where travelers are highlighted the dos and don’ts to do during the walk.
This walk is led by the guidance of the armed ranger who takes you to the different trails that lead to the swamp. During the walk, travelers encounter several primates like gorillas, vervet monkeys, L’hoest monkeys, and many others.

You should bring the medications and keep them in a personal first aid kit. This should be done so that in case of any accident, first aid is administered to you quickly.
