The cost of gorilla trekking permits varies depending on the destination and also visitor categories (foreign non-residents, residents, and nationals/citizens).
Uganda gorilla trekking permits cost USD 800 per person for all foreign nonresidents, and USD 700 per person for all foreign residents. Valid Rwanda gorilla permits cost USD 1500 per person. Gorilla Habituation Permits in Uganda

Gorilla habituation experience is among our top priority primate adventures. This primate adventure is only carried out in the Rushaga sector in Southwestern Uganda. The beauty about embarking on mountain gorilla habituation is that you have up to 4 hours to stay with a family of mountain gorillas. This is extremely far away from the normal 1 hour given during the usual gorilla trekking tours.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

Embarking on a gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi involves an active trek through the dense rainforest characterized by steep slopes and water streams. But at the end of it all, the long trek adventure brings back the lost hope. Right in the middle of a natural forest, you can closely observe a massive silverback gorilla and its family members. This is eye-striking and mind-blowing. It is during such a moment that your guide allows you to spend an hour face-to-face with these massive creatures.
Bwindi National Park is lying in Southwestern Uganda and holds about 500 mountain gorillas out of the world’s remaining 1063 individuals that are left on the Earth. These survive within the four regions that make up Bwindi including Ruhija, Buhoma, Rushaga, and Nkuringo.

About 24 habituated mountain gorilla groups currently roam in the jungles of Bwindi including the very newly opened families such as Katwe, Christmas, Kyaguriro, Bushaho, Bikingi, and others. The Bwindi gorilla trekking adventure begins with an early morning briefing on the rules and regulations, followed by the allocation of gorilla groups and park ranger guides to lead you.

Gorilla Safaris in Uganda Vs Rwanda

We understand how it is to choose between two great destinations Uganda and Rwanda for gorilla trekking. But by planning your trip with our expert, everything becomes simple. There is not much difference between these two destinations when it comes to gorilla safaris and our recommendation is to pay a visit to all. This can allow you to make a comprehensive comparison.
What is essential for primate adventure seekers to know is that Rwanda positioned itself as a luxury gorilla trekking destination. Uganda is generally a budget gorilla safari destination.

Gorilla permits in Rwanda currently cost USD 1500 per person unlike USD 800 per trekker in Uganda. Over 24 habituated gorilla groups are in Uganda freely roaming in Bwindi and Mgahinga, while in Rwanda, about 14 groups are open to visitors on a gorilla trek.

Embarking on the Great Migration tour in the Masai Mara and Serengeti offers visitors an incredible opportunity to observe the wildebeest movement and also the predators. These and more are a few unusual opportunities awaiting you when you book a safari through Allanblackia Safaris.

Why choose Allanblackia Safaris as your handler?

Allanblackia Safaris is a domestic company based in Entebbe Uganda and it gets its name from a tropical forest tree known as allanblackia which is a medicinal tree mainly growing in the rain forests of Bwindi impenetrable national park home of half of the world's mountain gorillas.

As Allanblackia Safaris our main goal is giving back to nature which we have already started with a pattern-ship with Aqua+ company which is a Dutch-based company that has supported us in promoting the rewild Bwindi reforestation project and we met their director Mr Bas-Jan Walhof and her wife as they travelled with us on their honey back in 2022 and they liked our goals and projects. We have been able to restore 21 acres of land and planted 42000 indigenous trees to expand the territory of mountain gorillas feeding ranges and other wildlife habiting the forest.

More than 5% of our profits are being used to support different youth programs through sports programs and conservation initiatives about nature as a way of conserving for future generations.

We still collaborate with Karambi Primary School which is a local school located at the boundaries of the Bwindi impenetrable forest we are doing conservation programs and we have been able to plan around 100 different tree species in the school perimeters for educational purposes and a way of promoting a green environment, further we are giving garbage collection materials to the schools to promote a sustainable environment.

As Allanblackia Safaris our main target is to restore over 100 acres of land with over 300,000 tree species and to achieve the desired results in promoting sustainable growth in conservation we need the customers and business partners in this and who come through traveling with us.

A green environment is a great future.
