In this safari, you will have a rare experience of the combination of the big five games viewing and mountain gorilla trekking. The Big Five game viewing experience in the Masai Mara National Reserve will take you through the encounter of the several Big Five wildlife like lions, leopards, buffaloes, rhinos, warthogs, cheetahs, impalas, zebras, and many others.

In the Masai Mara, you will also engage in the community visit of the Masai community which is one of the indigenous communities around the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi.

On Day 1 of 7 day Rwanda gorilla trekking and Kenya safaris will start with arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will meet a company representative who will transfer you to Nairobi. While in Nairobi, you will be transferred to the hotel for dinner and relaxation as you prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Meal Plan: Dinner.

Day 2: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve.

You will rise early morning and start over with breakfast and later on you will go ahead with a transfer to the Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve will take you through a scenic rift valley.

Upon arrival in the reserve, you will start with a lunch and later you will continue with an adventure in the reserve. This adventure will take you through a game viewing which will take you through the encounter of several wildlife around the reserve.

In the evening, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3: Full day in Masai Mara National Reserve.

After your early morning breakfast, you will start your full-day adventure with a game viewing that will take you through the encounter of the wildlife around the reserve. You will engage in a picnic lunch around a scenic point of the reserve.

Later on, you will continue with the game viewing around the Mara River. In the evening, you will engage in a sundowner at a scenic point in the reserve.

Day 4: Full day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Day 4 of your 7-day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking and Kenya Safaris includes a full-day visit to Masai Mara.. You will engage in an early morning balloon safari which will take you to view the reserve in the air.

You will have a scenic view of the winding plains of the reserve. Later on, you will engage in the bush breakfast within the reserve. After the scenic breakfast, you will continue with the transfer to the Masai community.

In the Masai community, you will engage in activities like bead making, cultural dances, and local cuisine preparation.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali.

You’ll begin the day with an early breakfast, followed by a transfer and game drive to Nairobi.Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for a flight to Rwanda.

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will transfer to your hotel in Kigali for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: City tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

While in Kigali, you will start over with breakfast at the hotel. Later on, you will continue with the Kigali city tour which take you through the history of the country. On the Kigali city tour, you’ll visit sites like the genocide monument, president’s museum, local markets, and more.

You will go ahead with a transfer to Volcanoes National Park which is nested in northwestern Rwanda province. This transfer will take about 2 hours of the day to reach the park. While on arrival, you will engage in the community visit to the Gorilla Guardian village.

In this village, you will engage in activities like cultural dances, local cuisine preparation, banana brewing, and many others.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking and departure

On the final day, start with an early breakfast, then head to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking. While at the park headquarters, you will start over with orientation about the gorilla trekking.

In this Orientation, you will be highlighted the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking.Later, you will continue the activity, which lasts 2 to 7 hours, until you meet the gorillas.

As you come across the gorillas, you will have 1 hour of viewing the gorillas maintaining a distance of 7 meters.

Later in the day, you will continue with a transfer back to Kigali for a transfer to the airport for your outbound flights which will mark the end of the safari.
