Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You’ll arrive at Kigali International Airport, where you’ll be met by your ALLANBLACKIA SAFARIS guide and transferred to Volcanoes National Park (approx. 2.5 hours). Check-in at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, and spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge. In the evening, enjoy dinner.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking
The next morning, you’ll wake up early for breakfast, and then head out for Golden Monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park. This rare and endangered species is a thrill to see up close, and you’ll have the chance to observe them in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Today you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (approx. 4 hours), home to over 400 mountain gorillas. Check-in at Nkuringo Lodge, and spend the afternoon Nkuringo cultural Center, located in the Nkuringo sector of the forest where you’ll have the chance to interact with the local people and learn about their culture in various cultural activities, including cooking local foods, making beer from bananas, weaving baskets, and participating in traditional dances and songs during cultural encounters.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Nkuringo
Today is your gorilla trekking in the Nkuringo sector of Bwindi Forest. The guide will drive a short distance to the National Park HQ.
Trekking briefing is at 8am at the UWA headquarters; after this you will be in the forest in search for the gorilla. Depending on the gorilla family you are allocated you will either enter the forest by foot, or your guide may drive you a short distance by road to a convenient entry point. The gorilla trekking excursion can take anywhere from a few hours up to the most of the day – depending on the location of the gorillas. A packed lunch will be provided by the lodge.
Note: You will be offered a “porter” to help you carry your bags and assist you in steep parts of the forest. These men and women live locally and are on an organized roster with a set fee of $20. Using this service helps provide a reliable source of income to the community. After the trek, transfer back to Kigali, Rwanda (approx. 4 hours), where you’ll depart from Kigali International Airport.
