The 11-day Uganda and Rwanda double primate safari will offer you an unforgettable experience that will take you through the encounters of the primates of Uganda and Rwanda. It will provide you with a rich blend of primate tracking, scenic landscapes, and cultural encounters across Uganda and Rwanda.

In this safari, you will adventure in Kibale National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Volcanoes National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Nyungwe Forest National Park, and Lake Kivu. Uganda’s Rwanda primate experience will give you a chance to see the chimpanzees, mountain gorillas, and golden monkeys that are within the two countries.

The blend with cultural communities will take you through the experience around the parks like Bigodi community, Batwa community, Gorilla Guardian Village, and Gisenyi cultural village.

Details of the safari.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe.

On this day, upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe.
At the hotel, you will have dinner.
You will then be left to relax for the rest of the day

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park.

You will rise early in the morning and start with an early breakfast. After that, you will have a short briefing with your guide about the 11-day Uganda and Rwanda double primate safari. Then later on, you will continue with the transfer to the Kibale National Park which is situated in western Uganda.

This transfer will take about 5 to 6 hours of the day. As you arrive in Fortprotal, you will engage in lunch and then continue with the visit to the Amabeere caves which are within the city.

In the evening, you will continue with the transfer to the lodge within the Kibale National Park for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Community Visit.

This adventure day will start with an early morning breakfast. Then, continue to the park headquarters for the chimpanzee trekking. While at the park headquarters, you will engage in a briefing about chimpanzee trekking. During the briefing, you will be informed about the dos and don’ts of the activity.

Later on, you will continue with the activity which will take about 2 to 7 hours upon where you meet the chimpanzee. As you come across the chimpanzees, you will spend 1 hour viewing them in their natural habitat maintaining a distance of 7 meters.

Later on, you will go ahead with the Bigodi community visit where in this community you will learn more about the lifestyle of the locals through several activities like coffee roasting, banana brewing, cultural dances, and many others.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

On day 4 of the 11-day Uganda and Rwanda double primate safari, you will have an early morning breakfast. Later on, you will transfer to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, nestled in southwestern Uganda. Bwindi impenetrable national park is dotted with several gorilla families.

In this transfer, you will make a stopover in the Queen Elizabeth National Park for a short game drive where you will encounter some of the savannah wildlife like lions, leopards, buffaloes, warthogs, and many others. Later on, continue with the transfer via the Ishasha sector.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking and Community Visit.

Today is a big day where you will start with an early morning breakfast and then continue to the park headquarters. While at the park headquarters, you will be oriented to the dos and don’ts about the gorilla trekking.

This orientation will be led by the ranger guides who will help to ensure successful gorilla trekking. After the orientation, you will proceed with the gorilla trekking which will take about 2 to 6 hours of the day upon where you meet the gorillas. You will have 1 hour of viewing the gorillas at a distance of 7 meters.

In the evening, you will visit the Batwa community for the cultural experience and learn about the way of life of the Batwa who used to live with the gorillas.

Day 6: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

After your relaxed breakfast on day 6 of the 11-day Uganda and Rwanda double primate safari, you continue with a transfer to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. In this transfer, you will make a stopover at the lake Bunyonyi for lunch.

While at the lake Bunyonyi, you will commence with the boat cruise on the island to see the several islands around the lake. In the evening, you will continue to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

On the final day in Uganda, you will transfer to the park headquarters for Golden Monkey trekking with your packed breakfast.
At the park headquarters, you will engage in another primate activity in Uganda.
This experience will take you through the encounter of the small, playful primates.

This golden monkey trekking will take you to encounter the golden monkeys which will take about 2 to 4 hours of the day.

Later on, you will continue with the transfer to the Volcanoes National Park via the Cyanika border.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking and Community Visit.

After your early morning breakfast, You will continue for your second gorilla trekking experience in the Volcanoes National Park. This second gorilla experience will highlight the activity.

Later on, you will continue with the gorilla trekking which will take about 2 to 6 hours of the day upon when you meet the gorillas. In this gorilla trekking, you will have a chance to see a different family of gorillas in a different environment.

During the evening, you will visit the Gorilla Guardian Village, offering an opportunity to learn about the culture of Rwanda. In this community, you will engage in activities like the preparation of local cuisine, coffee roasting, cultural dances, and many others.

Day 9: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

As you are done with your relaxed breakfast on day 9 of the 11-day Uganda and Rwanda double primate safari,
you will go ahead with a transfer to the Nyungwe Forest National Park.

This transfer will take you about 5 to 6 hours of the day.

Upon arrival in the Nyungwe Forest National Park, you will engage in the canopy walk within the park.

Day 10: Chimpanzee trekking and relaxation on Lake Kivu.

On the second last day of the 11-day Uganda and Rwanda double primate safari, you will have an early transfer to the Park headquarters. This will be followed by the chimpanzee trekking experience. In this chimpanzee experience, you will be highlighted the guidelines about the chimpanzee trekking to ensure the best experience.

Later on, you will continue with the activity which takes about 2 to 6 hours of the day. After the activity, you will transfer to Lake Kivu where you will have a relaxation for the rest of the day.

Day 11: Transfer to Kigali.

  The final day of the 11-day Uganda and Rwanda double primate safari, you will start the day with a community visit to the Gisenyi village cultural center where you will learn about the lifestyle of the locals around the village. Then you will continue with a transfer to Kigali.

While in Kigali, you will choose to be transferred to the airport for an outbound flight back home.
