This village was established in 2004 as a community-based organisation by Yasin Kazibwe, a snake enthusiast. Reptile Village is about 34 kilometers away from Kampala.
The village is the only and first private sector of reptiles in Uganda. Reptile Village is home to over 20 species of reptiles.
Yasin Kazibwe was once a speedboat captain and also had training and knowledge about reptiles. He gained the passion from the urge to save reptiles.
He created awareness about reptiles in his community that the primates are not dangerous. In his passion for reptiles, Yasin published several documents about the reptiles called “Snake bite”.
To start up this village, Yasin acquired permission from the government to start up this village. This project was aimed at eradicating poverty in the community.
Encountering the reptiles in this village, the village is open from 0800 hours to 1800 hours.

Uganda wildlife education centre commonly known as Entebbe zoo, is situated within Entebbe at the shores of Lake Victoria. In this zoo, there are several rescued wildlife species that are kept in captivity.
